Our worship is Liturgical, Sacramental, and Spirit-filled.

​

The word “Liturgy” means “work of the people”.  As such, liturgical worship is a participatory act of the whole community. We encourage everyone sing, pray and read together. Everything you need to know about the order of service is printed in your bulletin.

Sacramental worship means that we encounter Jesus in the two Sacraments he has given his Church - Baptism and Communion.  We celebrate Communion every Sunday, and in our Anglican tradition, all baptized Christians are invited to receive Communion. If you’re not a baptized Christian or if you choose not receive Communion, we still invite you to come forward with everyone else so as to receive a blessing.

Spirit-filled worship means that we believe in the power and presence of the Holy Spirit when God’s people gather to worship. We pray for the Holy Spirit to move in and amonst us as we worship.  Often the Spirit’s presence is felt during times of prayer and singing. Our service incorporates times for communal and individual prayers.  Singing songs of worship to God is an important part of our service, and we sing both modern and traditional church music.

At Emmaus, we love Jesus, and we take our worship of Him seriously. Even so, our services are anything but somber. Our love for the Lord and one another makes our worship joyful. We typically dress casually and spend some time before the service enjoying one another’s company.
