Fellowship

Emmaus gets its name from the story in Luke 24, where two travelers meet Jesus on the road from Jerusalem to Emmaus after his resurrection. They don’t recognize Jesus, but invite him into their home to share a meal with him, and as they do so, their eyes are opened and they recognize him.

Coming together around a table to eat is a regular practice at Emmaus Anglican. It's where conversation, laughter, connection, and celebration happens, and where spiritual community becomes a reality.

Discipleship
Sunday worship is just one of the ways we grow in the knowledge and love of God. During the year we engage in small groups, which nurture our relationships with God and one another.

Missions
Missions, especially local, are at the heart of Emmaus. We are actively involved in several missions here on Cape Cod as well as national and international missions. If you love missions, Emmaus is the place for you.

Prayer

Prayer is such an integral part of the Christian life and at Emmaus that we engage God in prayer in worship as well as daily prayer, according to our Anglican tradition. We also make space for regular times of healing prayer.

Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction provides a safe, welcoming, and confidential space to reflect on how God is currently present in your life and your responses to him. Awareness of God's presence grows within this monthly practice of about an hour in which the Holy Spirit is the true director leading our conversation and times of prayerful listening.The Rev. Gayle Heaslip is a certified Spiritual Director for the Anglican Diocese in New England.
Twice annually, the congregation engages in a Soul Care retreat.
